Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge shuttle tour. Friends of the Savannah Coastal Refuges is a non-profit volunteer organization. On Tuesday mornings we have a motorized cart tour into the Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge located off Rt 278 between Hilton Head Island and Bluffton. The tour is lead by a Master Naturalist. Learn about the history, flora and fauna of this 4054 acre National Wildlife Refuge. The tour is on a 10 seat “golf cart”. The cart was provided by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry. The cost is free but donations towards the upkeep of the cart are appreciated. If you have mobility issues and have difficulty walking, this tour is for you. No walking required. This is the only motorized tour permitted in the Refuge by the US Fish & Wildlife.

Tours are every Tuesday morning year around. In the Summer months the tour is 9:30 to 11 am. In the cooler months tour time is 10:30 to noon.
